For recognizing and supporting top-achieving aspirants from all over the world, the University of Canterbury is providing students with an opportunity to apply for the International First Year Scholarship to study in New Zealand.
The university offers these grants to those skilled candidates who will commence in the undergraduate degree coursework at the university in session 2020-2021. Up to twenty-five scholarships will be awarded.

International students are eligible to apply for this studentship. Applicants may not be citizens of New Zealand or Australia, Permanent Residents of Australia or holders of New Zealand residence class visas.
To take part in this program, the candidate must have to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- The applicant needs to be completed, or have completed on or after January 1 of the year before the year of application.
- Candidates are required to have a university entrance-level qualification that permits entry into a University of Canterbury undergraduate degree programme.
- Such students who are undertaking, or have completed, a programme at the UC International College are eligible to apply.
Course and Subject
The university offers these grants to study the undergraduate degree coursework in any subject offered by the university.
Each winning scholars will get the amount in these values of $10,000, $15,000 for $20,000 through the duration of your studies. The scholarship is paid to a recipient’s tuition fees account at the time of enrolment in a programme.
