As a lot of other amendments made by the president of the US, here comes another one as an uprise in the rejection of H-1B visa petitions. The American think-tank study shows that the highest rejection rate is amongst the Indian IT companies.
Recently a few changes were made in the H-1B visas to ensure that the term speciality occupation is fully implemented. The amendments stated that the permits were offered to the individuals who fit for the terminology mentioned above. The new regulation’s other purpose was to supplement the US workforce and the protection of workers of the US.
Yet another dramatic change in the rate of rejection of the petitions of the H-1B visas is seen. The denial rate of the permits of the Indian IT companies was six per cent in 2015. Now, it has reached a speed of twenty-four per cent.
The H-1B visa is granted to the internationals, after which us government allows the foreign workers to be employed in the companies of America. This non-immigrant visa is for workers who have technical and theoretical expertise. Hence called the speciality occupation. The companies entirely rely on the H-1B permissions after which they can hire thousands of foreigners usually from India and China.it
The Indian IT companies are now under the target of the Trump administration. One such example is Infosys. An Indian IT company that was accused of statements that were wilful and irregularities in the accounts. The accused are said to do this misdemeanour to make the company look better.
Nevertheless, the initial employments petitions for H-1B visas for Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Intel were only one per cent. Currently, the rate has increased to six for amazon, Eight for Microsoft, seven for intel, and three per cent for Google. The rejection rate for apple is the same as before, which is two per cent.
On the other hand, the IT Indian companies’ rejection rate increases to three folds. Tech Mahindra’s rejection rate hopped from four per cent to forty-one per cent. The Infosys’s speed increased from only two to forty-five per cent. The other IT Indian Company Tata Consultancy Services jumped from a rejection rate of six to thirty-four.
Wipro, another Indian Company, has a rate of rejection increased to fifty-three per cent from only seven in recent years. Not only these companies, but another twelve more companies like Accenture and Capgemini also had a denial rate of thirty per cent.
Compared to these IT Indian Companies, American Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google have an increase in the rejection rate. The rate of these companies is meagre with the comparison to that of the Indian Companies.
Furthermore, Trump’s Buy American and hire American agenda that promised to have result-driven immigration programs are also affected by the delaying of the H-1B visa petitions. It seems that the aim here is to make it a challenge for the competent foreign nationals to work in the STEM streams in America.
The environment for the employers is not favourable and causing these international employers to bring innovation in other countries. Still, the US.this practice will make the innovation of the America lag behind.
